The proposal!

Nov. 30th, 2010
We have talked about marriage for many years. We even had a plastic coffee jug that Rafi wrote "Ring money" on where his change was put in daily, but there was never a set timeline.

In 2009, Rafi's maternal grandmother, Sara, who was recently diagnosed with Cancer, decided to give Rafi one of her engagement rings that she wanted Rafi to change to our style and give to Gina.

Unfortunately, Sara passed away a few months after, and the idea of changing it in anyway, was difficult for Rafi to fathom. Rafi and Gina decided to leave the ring the way it was, but still have the meaning by taking the center diamond out of the ring and placing it in a new setting.
Once this was an agreement, Gina knew the engagement would be coming soon, but didn't know when.

The ring!
After many other previous proposal plans that Rafi had in mind  ended up not working out, it finally happened in Gina's classroom at work.  Rafi got one of Gina's co-worker's phone number off her phone and then texted the co-worker, telling her his idea and asking her if that would be okay to do in front of the class.

His idea was happily accepted and was planned for the next day,  November 30th, 2010.

Rafi came into the classroom when Gina was talking to a co-worker and when she turned around, she was stunned to see him in the room and on his knee, with the ring and bouquet of roses.

Gina's first reaction was to say "Shut up!",  then immediate tears for what seemed like forever to Rafi.   She then nodded and said "yes!"  as her class clapped .

 And so the planning begins!
